Description

PostFix is a pre-mixed, rapid-setting concrete specifically formulated for securing fence posts, gate posts, signposts and similar vertical installations. Supplied in convenient 20 kg bags, it requires no prior mixing, simply pour the dry mix into your pre-dug hole, add water as per the bag instructions, and tamp lightly. Designed to set in as little as 5–10 minutes, PostFix delivers sufficient initial strength to support your post almost immediately, making it ideal for both DIY enthusiasts and professional contractors.

Each 20 kg bag yields enough concrete for one standard fence post (approximately 600 mm deep by 100 mm diameter), eliminating waste and guesswork. The blend of high-quality aggregates and cement ensures durability in all soil types, while waterproof, UV-resistant packaging allows outdoor storage without moisture ingress. Whether you’re installing timber, metal or concrete posts, this rapid set concrete simplifies the process, no wheelbarrows, no mixers, just fast, reliable results every time.

 Features

  • Rapid-setting formula: Initial set in as little as 5–10 minutes for immediate post support

  • No-mix convenience: Pour dry mix into the hole, add water per bag instructions—no wheelbarrow or mixer needed

  • Single-bag yield: 20 kg bag fills a 100x600mm hole to suit a 1800mm post. Use 2 or more bags for larger posts/holes.

FAQ

1. How quickly does PostFix set?

  • Initial set occurs in 5-10 minutes, providing immediate support for your post. Full strength is reached in about 24 hours.

2. How many bags do I need per post?

  • With good ground and a standard 8ft post generally 1 bag is required. For bigger posts or bad ground conditions 2 or more bags may be necessary.

3. How much water should I add per bag?

  • Add 2.5–3.5 litres of clean water per 20 kg bag, adjusting slightly for consistency. Mix until you achieve a damp, coffee-grout texture.

4. Can I use PostFix in all soil types?

  • Yes, its formulation resists wash-out in clay, sand or loamy soils. For very loose ground, tamp the hole base before pouring.

5. Do I need special tools to mix it?

  • No, simply pour the dry mix into the hole, add the recommended water, and stir with a trowel or stick. No wheelbarrow or mixer required.

6. What temperature range is suitable for use?

  • Best used between 5 °C and 25 °C. Below 5 °C, warm water helps set; above 25 °C, keep water cool to control the setting time.

7. How should I store unused bags?

  • Store in a dry, covered area above ground level. Unopened bags remain effective for up to 12 months.

8. Can I adjust the mix for different set times?

  • For a slightly slower set in warm weather, reduce water by up to 0.5 litres per bag. Don’t exceed the maximum water volume.

9. Is PostFix suitable for metal or concrete posts?

  • Yes, PostFix bonds well with timber, metal and concrete posts, offering firm anchorage in all cases.

10. How do I dispose of leftover mix or empty bags?

  • Dispose of empty bags through your local recycling scheme for cement bags.
