Materials

Expertly crafted from S275JR steel, the Birtley ST offers exceptional strength and durability as a result of intricate crafting processes followed by Birtleys super-galv post-fabrication hot-dip galvanisation. The resulting zinc coating is 65µm; 50% thicker than offered by other manufacturers leaving no surface with inferior paint or corrosion protection.

Installation and usage

Used for its low U value to achieve net zero standards, the ST is designed for effortless installation. The ST150 lintels are strong but lightweight and do not require propping, significantly simplifying the installation process. For optimal stability, the lintel must be positioned on a bed of bricklaying mortar, leaving a minimum of 150mm end bearing.
