Kiln Dried Sand For Block Paving

Kiln dried paving sand is an ideal infill for block pavers or infill for paving slabs, its high temperature drying process removes virtually all moisture, producing consistently fine, dry grains. When kept dry, it sweeps into paving joints without clumping, ensuring complete and even filling across your block paving.

Thoroughly cleaned to remove impurities, it often resembles beach sand, delivering a neat finish while suppressing weeds and ensuring proper drainage to prevent water pooling.

As a trusted builders merchant based in Willenhall, West Midlands, we supply reliable building materials to local tradespeople. Our Kiln Dried sand is available in:

  • 25kg plastic bags – ideal for easy storage and handling, also these bags are available for delivery to most postal areas in the UK via the pallet network.

  1. Remove all weeds and debris from all the joints between the block pavers, make to sure remove the entire root of the weeds
  2. Use a scrapper or stiff brush to remove any other debris
  3. Deep clean the joint with a pressure washer on a low setting, this will help dislodge any existing sand
  4. Rinse the area to remove any left over dirt ensuring the paving is clean ready for the sand
  5. Once dry, pour a generous amount of kiln dried sand over the entire surface of the pavers
  6. Using a soft platform broom (as sold below) sweep the sand back and forth, and diagonally until all the joints are filled

Do you offer delivery on kiln dried sand?

Yes across the west midlands area. Deliveries will a be properly wrapped on a pallet so the sand stays dry during transport.

What is this sand suitable for?

This sand works well for filling the gaps between block pavers because of how fine the grains are, making it easy to sweep into place.

Because of this it can properly fill the gaps ensuring the paving keeps its structure, drains water and reduces weed growth.

Why is it called kiln dried?

Because its dried in a chamber called a "kiln" to remove all the moisture, this makes it easier to sweep in between paving gaps because the sand doesn't stick together.

Its dried properties ensure the paving gaps are filled more effectively than if another type of sand is used.

Can this sand be stored outside?

No, its highly recommended to keep this sand inside, in a dry environment before use else it will clump together and become difficult to sweep into place.

Our sand is kept inside away from the elements at all times to ensure its moisture free.

Is the sand ready to use?

No preparation is needed, just wait for a dry day and surface, pour out the sand, and sweep it into place.
